She is the author of Flow-based Leadership: What the Best Firefighters Can Teach You About Leadership and Making Hard Decisions, named the #1 Public Safety Leadership Book of 2016 by Fire Chief Magazine.
Dr. Glick-Smith has been studying flow-based decision making and leadership in the fire service since 2007. She has run her own IT consulting firm since 1983, serving a broad range of clients and industries. She taught technical writing and communication at the university level for 16 years.
Dr. Glick-Smith is a past international president and Fellow of the Society for Technical Communication. She has a Ph.D. in Transformative Studies and an MS in Conflict Management. She holds certifications in the administration of EQ-i Emotional Intelligence assessments, the Zachman Framework for Enterprise Architecture®, and the Technology of Participation® facilitation method.
